The Howard County Digitization Consortium is composed of the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library, the Greentown Public Library, and the Howard County Historical Society. All three members, located in Howard County, Indiana, have a shared interest in preserving local historical materials and making them available to as many people as possible. The Howard County Digitization Consortium supports the digitization of unique local print resources in the spirit of the American Memory Project created by the Library of Congress.

The Consortium Representatives are:

• Margi Bontrager, Director of the Greentown Public Library
• Kelly Thompson, Director of the Howard County Historical Society
• Stew Lauterbach, Curator at the Howard County Historical Society
• Marcia Ford, Head of Genealogy and Local History Services at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library
• Peg Harmon, Assistant Director of the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library

In its first year, 2002, Janet Winrotte was hired as Project Coordinator to oversee the digitization of Howard County high school yearbooks from 1901-1950. Seven additional temporary staff were hired and their names appear throughout the records as "entered by" or "scanned by."

IMAGE CDs

On this web site, the images are .jpg files. Each yearbook page was also saved as a .TIFF file and recorded on a CD. The CDs are available to view at the "Primary Archive" listed on the individual records, and a copy of all yearbook .TIFF file CDs are also available in the Genealogy and Local History Services Department of the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library.

If you have a yearbook from a Howard County high school that does not appear on this web site, and you would like to loan or donate it to the Howard County Digitization Consortium for use on this site, you can drop it off at one of the member libraries, or contact Marcia Ford at mford@khcpl.org.
